According to the UK rag, The Daily Mail, Tom Cruise is in talks with studios to resurrect Top Gun for a sequel.

It is being said the Cruise is interested in jumping back into the flight suit of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.

Daily Mail’s inside source says,

“The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.”

I have to say this is the stupidest thing I have heard in awhile and since it is The Daily Mail it should be taken with a grain of salt. I mean Cruise is so desperate for work he wants to re-boot that movie? I love Top Gun and sometimes I do “feel the need for speed” and watch Top Gun but a sequel to me would be stupid and this could be a Tom Cruise direct-to-DVD the way it sounds but I am just a blogger what the hell do I know. Also I bet Katie Holmes will be the girl pilot and they will have a major love scene to Jessica Simpson remake of “Take My Breath Away.”
