Disney Gets “Monster Attack Network”

Disney has acquired screen rights to Monster Attack Network, a graphic novel published by AIT/Planet Lar in 2007.

The Hollywood Reporter relays that the adventure tale was written by Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman with art by Nima Sorat, and is set on the picture-perfect Pacific island of Lapuatu, which is populated by giant monsters. There, a team of adventurers deal with rampages and related crises and clean up messes afterwards. The team faces its biggest challenge when a shady industrialist shows up.

Disney is eyeing the project, described as having a Men in Black tone, as a tentpole with franchise potential.

Wanted’s producer, Jason Netter is developing the project for Disney via his Kickstart Entertainment company.

I do not know much about this seriel but again I am generally OK with graphic novel’s hitting the big screen as long as the adaptation holds true to the source material. I like monster movies and this seems like and interesting one with a certain Men In Black/Evolution/Jurassic Park feel to it. You can’t go wrong with that if is done right.
