Pablo Escobar is finally cast! Killing Pablo moving forward!

Well.. Billy Walsh isn’t directing, Vinny Chase isn’t playing the nose candy selling fiend and the film isn’t titled Medellin. However, Smokin Aces, director Joe Carnahan hopes his film doesn’t flop like the Walsh directed one in Entourage. But right now he just excited to have a Pablo.

The film titled, Killing Pablo as signed their leading man. Carnahan, has hired Edgar Ramierez for his Colombian blow dealing kingpin, Pablo Escobar, in the true-crime epic Killing Pablo. CHUD got the scoop from Carnahan…

“…I couldn’t be more fired up by the prospect. He’s coming at it with boundless enthusiasm, conviction to the role and and the understanding that he’s going to have to pack on anywhere from 35 to 40lbs.”

Earlier this month, Peter, at Slashfilm reported that Javier Bardem had dropped out of the lead role. Christian Bale’s involvement wasn’t discussed, but he remains attached to play Steve Jacoby, the U.S. authority who lead the agonizingly complex hunt for Escobar.
