Peter Segal direct’s Wardogs

MGM has acquired Ken Kaufman and David Agosto’s action-comedy pitch tentatively titled Wardogs, and has attached Get Smart, helmer Peter Segal to direct.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details of the plot are being kept under wraps, but co-producer Andrew Lazar said that

“it’s an action ensemble comedy in the vein of Ocean’s Eleven, where the casting becomes an event.”

You can probably guess that with the buzz surrounding Tropic Thunder that other studios are looking for their next Stripes. I am assuming this movie will fall into the realm of these two comedies. Seems like $ 1 million is a lot to bid for this type of script. Oh yeah FYI - a wardog is a dog used and trained for war…so I am wondering if that will have anything to do with it.
