Universal has 2 Guns!

Universal is set to produce the crime thriller 2 Guns, a graphic novel from Boom! Studios. Marc Platt will produce via his Marc Platt Prods. banner along with Boom! co-founders Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports that 2 Guns, written by Steven Grant and art by Mat Santolouco, follows a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who are unwittingly investigating each other and who steal mob money for the good guys. They realize later that the mob actually got them to steal $50 million from the CIA.

The project is pegged to be a throwback to the ’80s buddy cop movies in the realm of Lethal Weapon and 48 Hours but with a modern spin.

I do not know much about this trade but the plot does sound intriguing and I can definitely see its appeal. Also I am always a proponnent of comics and graphic novels getting to the big screen because anything that helps the comic book industry I am for. I go to the Comic Book store every friday and will probably check this out.
