Quantum of Solace Theme Song Online! It Sucks!
You can hear the song and download “Another Way to Die” here courtesy of the embed provided by Imeem:
Imeem has the first full version of “Another Way To Die”, the official Quantum of Solace theme written and performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys. Personally I am not impressed by the song. I understand these are both really popular artists right now and their is a mass audience appeal and today’s Bond songs don’t have to be formulaic of the old ones. That being said to me that isn’t the issue, it was just kind of a crappy song. White’s raspy punk-ish voice combined with a nice soulful Alicia Keys isn’t a good combination to me. Also the guitar sounds try to play into the old Bond theme sound with the accompaniment and to me it felt like a mess, especially since this is a follow-up to what I thought of as one of the best Bond songs ever in Casino Royale with the theme,“You Know My Name” by former Audioslave/Soundgarden lead, Chris Cornell.
Personally I would have liked to have heard a band like Gomez or if you wanted to go more mainstream and rock - JET or Oasis. However, Alicia Keys by herself would have been fine too.

I disagree
Damn you Kevin! Listening to this song is very, very, VERY tempting! But I have a personal rule: I never listen to a Bond theme until I see it in the theater. So I’m going to resist this urge you have placed at my feet…so…hard…to…fight…temptation!
No prob…I do what I can.
@Justin
Why do you disagree? Because Alicia Keys is your beloved woman of all time and she can’t possibly make anything bad. What if I told you I would have rather of had her do the whole thing instead of the duet with Jack. I would have much rather had a theme song just done by Keys instead of both her and White…if this was just White doing it? would you agree with me then?
I also meant to say that the reason why I liked the “You Know My Name” song is because Cornell’s voice rocks on the track but also the song was arrangement by the David Arnold who helped write the score so it fit musically into the score of the film. As far as I know this song isn’t and will remain just a single and the opening theme. That is part of the reason the song didn’t impress me. Look at all the classic songs in previous Bond films the great ones fit into the score of the movie and that to me is important. You can still do that and be pop culture friendly.
It is hard to top Cornell’s YKMN - which had rather dark lyrics while capturing the Bond spirit and mood.
And well, of course, his always most excellent voice.
The new song is not bad - but I’m not picking up any Bond vibe from it.
Epic. Fail.
It doesn’t seem like the producers even care about the Bond songs anymore. They’re supposed to be focused and infinitely listenable. A duet throws the entire dynamic off. The end result is unremarkable and ultimately forgettable.
The only other Bond track I can compare it to is ‘Live And Let Die’, but that’s a masterpiece. (Paul McCartney & Wings. Need I say more?)
Bring back Shirley Bassey or hell, Shirley Manson. Get someone who can belt out and sustain those high notes. Plenty of brass. ‘You Know My Name’ is tough to beat as it’s one of the best but I’m most certainly disappointed by ‘Another Way To Die’.
