Raimi and Maquire back for Spidey 4 and 5!

So the rumor madness is over! Both Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi will be returning for Spider-man 4 according to Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood, and they may be set to return for Spider-Man 5 as well. According to the report, the studio is looking to film both films at the same time both for reasons of cost effectiveness and because
“it wasn’t so easy to get everybody back together.”
Everybody, includes Maguire and Raimi but also Kirsten Dunst. According to the report Dunst’s character Mary Jane Watson will be there and they would
“never recast her”
The script for the film was written by Jamie Vanderbilt, and so far the studio is being tight-lipped about the villain and who might play the character.
However those insiders you read about or the people close to the project say that
“once you find out who the villain is, you’ll know who is playing it.”
One thing that is certain however is that it won’t be a return of Venom being that he will be getting a spin-off film. Spider-man 4 will not follow the trend of comic book films
“going dark”.
Principal photography for Spider-man 4 begins in the fall of 2009. This is great and was bound to happen I hope Jamie Vanderbilt’s story is better than Spidey 3. This being said I am sad to see that Dunst is returning, to me she was the weakest thing about the films and if they play the love tango back and forth again in this movie then I will pissed! I wish they could write her out! She could be off in LA trying to become a film actress and Peter can begin a new relationship with Gwen Stacey! Oh well! guess thats why I do not get paid the big bucks to write scripts!
